Strategic Ways to defend yourself from Harm: Ladies take note

Defend yourself from Harm

Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved one's life- In daylight, especially on an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, & everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse-RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.... The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their carsafter shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their check book, or making lists of future shopping plans-DON'T DO THIS!) The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him / her to get in on the passenger side-with weapon and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE…..

If someone is in the car with a gun pointed to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you (please make sure that your car has one). If the person is in the back seat , they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. Women, are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It , it may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch few nights ago, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT Open the door..' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way-whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night-please take note and be careful!!!!.

10. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack-rather call the police and report the incident.

11. For night club lovers, especially ladies, do not go alone to clubs, rather go out  in groups and do not go outside of the club  or home with a guy/guy’s without knowing them well-remember that most deadly killers look so cute!!!!

12. Avoid too much alcohol or getting high in clubs, social gatherings and or with strangers. Furthermore, be 100% sure of the source of your drink-most rapist/ serial killers drug their victims before driving off with them.

13. Ladies, please always have something to defend yourself in your hand bag-it can be tear gas or little knife…you never know if the little weapon will help you escape danger…

14. Most importantly, we recommend you to keep fit, be healthy and always be attentive of your surroundings. Being fit (Body and mind) will put you in a good proactive position during danger.

Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbours! Please pass this on.
This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby Theory was mentioned on
America 's Most Wanted when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana

I'd like you to forward this to all the women ( and guys)  you know, bless you all.

Why Culture and Strategy Should Eat Breakfast Together

Culture eats strategy for breakfast

Culture eats strategy for breakfast’, claimed a recent article while another proclaimed that more simply that culture matters more than strategy. And yes, there are many organizations, and leaders that separate culture and strategy as though one can work effectively without the other over the long term. Just as there are too many guru-consultants who don’t appear to know how to make them work together.
This is a mistake. Too many think that having a set of nauseatingly cookie-cutter, me-too, amorphous, homogeneous cultural values that they dream up and impose on the organization means that they have culture. A winning culture. A customer-centric culture. Or more shallow, self-defeating terms that neglect to understand either the nature of culture or the value of strategy. (see Building a winning culture : Bain & Company ., Forging a winning culture - PwC
Strategy is about shaping the future. It is how we move from today to tomorrow. It is how we figure out how to travel from A to B. Brilliant strategy is about the best way of moving from means to ends. It is everything that is needed and nothing else.
Culture is about the personality and behaviors of a social group. It is the billion different ways that predict what a group of people are likely to do next. It is the manner, the flavor, the traditions, the norms, the attitudes that distinguish one group from another. This is culture. And it is both means and ends.
Culture can shape the kind of strategy that emerges, but it is not strategy. Strategy can shape the kind of culture that develops, but it is not culture. And the difference between the two means that they both matter – equally – to the survival and potential success of the group over the short, medium and long term.
A nice, kind, customer-loving, employee-hugging culture can follow an arse-about-face, ignorance-personified, wrong-in-a-thousand-ways, doomed-before-it-even-starts strategy. The strategy may start right but end wrong. The strategy may be smart except for the actions of other people, in other organizations, that make it old news, old-fashioned, out-of-date, no longer fit for purpose.
Great cultures may still collapse. Great civilizations with great cultures have disappeared. Great companies with great cultures have become bankrupt, been superseded, surpassed by supposedly lesser cultures with better strategy.
Evolution, as I argue in Adaptability, does not care what we think. It doesn’t care about the greatness of our culture as a fact, it simply, as a force, cares whether what is done is a successful fit to our situation. Learning culture can help. Adaptable culture can help. But in the end, it’s our strategy that will harness the potential of our resources, what we have and who we are, to shape a better future.

What We Can Learn From Adidas' $1 Billion CEO Decision

What We Can Learn From Adidas' $1 Billion CEO Decision

After Adidas announced its new CEO, it immediately gained $1 billion in value. It’s easy to forget how important one human being can be.
You’ve probably never heard of Kasper Rorsted – I had not until recently – however, he turns out to be a highly valuable man. Adidas announced that he would be leaving his job as CEO of Henkel, a German consumer packaged goods maker, and would become CEO of Adidas in October, replacing CEO Herbert Hainer. Henkel immediately lost $2 billion of market value on the news, and Adidas, a smaller company, immediately gained $1 billion – on a day when German stocks overall lost ground. All because of one man planning to change jobs nine months from now.
Everybody nods their head when you say human capital is really important, but it’s easy to forget just how important one human being can be. Every board of directors’ most important job is picking the right CEO, and every business leader’s most important job is picking the people who report to him or her. Nobody’s batting average is perfect. So here are seven lessons I’ve learned from CEOs about this supremely important responsibility:
-Don’t hesitate to make a change. If you get CEOs – even the greatest CEOs – talking candidly about their biggest regret, it’s always the same thing: I waited too long to move a person who was in the wrong job. Only later do they realize the cost of their delay.
-Don’t tell yourself that you can coach the person you’ve chosen, even though he or she isn’t quite ready for the job or, once in the job, isn’t performing well. That’s one of the most common rationalizations. It almost never proves true.
-Pay attention to the person’s lifestyle. You say it isn’t strictly relevant? Yes it is. It bespeaks character. Former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy partied hard, surrounded himself with sycophants, flew one of the company jets to gigs for the country band of which he was lead singer, formed and managed a girl band, raced around in his 10 boats…you didn’t need a lot of life experience to see that trouble was likely. Scrushy served five years in federal prison for bribery and still owes HealthSouth almost $3 billion.
-Check for grounding and humility. I once asked former Honeywell CEO and former General Electric vice chairman Larry Bossidy how he could tell when rising leaders weren’t going to make it. He answered, “They don’t grow. They swell.”
-Don’t hesitate to raise the topic of succession with a CEO, if you’re a director, or with anyone who reports to you. People often feel uncomfortable initiating this conversation, fearing they’ll be seen as trying to push the person out. But the best leaders are happy to talk about the process of developing their successor, knowing that the process takes years and that they’ll be judged in part by their successor’s performance.
-Analyze your calendar to see how much time you’re spending on leadership development and succession planning for yourself and those who report to you. It probably isn’t enough. The numbers I’ve heard from successful CEOs range from 20% to 60%. After all, this is your most important job.
-Don’t ever, ever settle. If you aren’t confident you’ve made a great choice, then don’t make it. Even if you are confident, you may still be wrong. But if the inner voice is telling you something isn’t right, listen to it.

Why the Most Connected People Are No Longer Using LinkedIn

The most connected members of LinkedIn have vanished. What does this mean for you?

Amidst news of LinkedIn being bought by Microsoft, one mystery remains: Where have all the "Super Connectors" gone? It appears that the website
built on making connections might frown upon having too many.
Most users on LinkedIn have under 500 connections. There is a subsection of LinkedInusers who are connected to hundreds of thousands of people. Individually, Steven Burda and Zura Kakushadze have accumulated more connections than the majority of people in your office combined. Their
accounts, along with a slew of others, have vanished.
It's impossible to determine exactly how many of the accounts were
deactivated, mostly because outside of LinkedIn messages nobody knows
how to reach each other. Their voices have been lost. While they wait in
limbo for an answer as to when their accounts will be reinstated, we can
only make assumptions as to what the real reason for their disappearance is.
Kakushadze has a PhD in theoretical physics, more than 11 years of
experience in quantitative finance, and has published over 100 scientific
papers. Burda has a background in finance, IT, and accounting but feels at
home as a social media consultant. To say that their loyal followers are
missing out on their teachings is an understatement.
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but I wanted to know why they were
deleted. Did they violate the terms of service? Did they somehow game
the system, lie, cheat, or steal? I was able to contact the two most
connected users to get their side of the story.

How Many Connections Is Too Many?

LinkedIn is built on the expectation that you can build your professional
identity and discover opportunities online. Mutual friends on LinkedIn
introduced me to these two Super Connectors, who felt as though they
had grown too large of a following and were banned because of it.
When I was a child, I cared for a friend's pet hamster while she was away.
I knew I had to feed him, but I didn't know how often. One day, I emptied
the whole box of food into the cage and let the hamster eat as it pleased.
I came back to check in on little Hammie, and to my dismay he had
passed away.
I later learned that he had eaten himself to death. He didn't know any better: Food was good; it helped him to survive.
The same goes for LinkedIn users whose businesses thrive on the platform.
Why were they given the ability to make connections only to be slapped on
the wrist when they had too many?
The top 10 Super Connectors have all been denied access to their accounts.
In fact, when you go to one of their pages, it simply says, "Sorry, this profile couldn't be displayed." Most claim that their emails asking for help from
LinkedIn have gone ignored.

Why Are Some Allowed More Than Others?

L.I.O.N: LinkedIn Open Networker. These people usually have the most connections, and currently it's not known why some people are capped at
30,000 while others aren't.
I have nearly 30,000 connections and 8,000 open requests that I cannot
accept. I use LinkedIn to advertise my business, Bikini Luxe, and to connect
with like-minded people. These days it's all about whom you know, not what
you know.
When asked how he had amassed such a following, Kakushadze said, "Painstakingly. You either receive a connection request or you send one.
One at a time."

Could This Happen to You?

We can only speculate as to what the motives are, but the vague wording
of the LinkedIn Terms of Service leaves a lot to the imagination. According
to Kakushadze, he doesn't market or advertise on or make any money from LinkedIn. His main purpose on the website is to popularize his research and spread knowledge.
His papers on quantum finance, cancer research, and theoretical physics
make my head spin. Why anyone (or any social platform) would want to halt someone like him from educating others entirely for free is beyond me.
Steven Burda spent 10 years carefully cultivating his LinkedIn connections
and growing his business. Will people still be interested in attending his
LinkedIn Workshops if he isn't actually on the platform any longer?
What I have found is that this could happen to anyone, for any reason.
What we are led to believe to be our virtual property is not really ours at all,
and it can be taken away at any time.
In a world where who you are on social media is all that matters, when your popularity online grants you access to more clientele and deems you valid, having that stripped away when you've worked hard to achieve it must be devastating.
Share this story to help bring them back!
